It's set! Comcast buys Time Warner Cable for $45 Billion, according to news source a few minutes ago. The deal is said to combine two biggest cable operators in the world.

Comcast and Time Warner Cable

The boards of the two merging companies revealed the news on Thursday morning.

The process went through a tight ordeal, which almost sent Comcast to pull out from the 8-month takeover battle for Time Warner Cable.

According to the  chairman and chief executive officer of Comcast Corp. Brian Roberts, his dominance of the U.S. cable industry will be maintained.

Comcast Corporation is known as the largest mass media and communications firm in the world in terms of revenue.

Meanwhile, Time Warner Cable is an American cable telco that is responsible for the cable and telecommunications operations in at least 29 states.
