China dog treats kill hundreds of dogs

Sometime in October this year, China dog treats posed serious issues regarding a mysterious illness outbreak in more than 3,600 dogs, including ten cats and death of about 600 pets.
Back in January, some 500 dogs died of Chinese treats. FDA on the other hand, went clueless even though several tests were done, covering different manufacturers. Consequently, FDA was unsure what it is in the chickens and ducks, and also in sweet potato jerky treats that makes the animals sick.

According to FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine Martine Hartogensis, the testing procedure is still on going to determine the contaminants in the said dog treats.

Because of the above-mentioned ill effects of jerky China dog treats, some manufactures decided to withdraw certain variations of their dog treats products.

For one, Nestle Purina PetCare Co. pulled out is Waggin’ Train and Canyon Creek Ranch brand dog treats.
