1st Filipino bishop to be ordained by Pope Francis

On January 9 (Thurs), Fr. Narciso Abellana of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart will be ordained by Pope Francis. The news was shared by Romblon Gov. Eduardo Firmalo through social media.

Fr. Narciso Abellana, MSC is a Bishop-elect of the Diocese of Romblon on October 16, 2013.

Abellana is to succeed Bishop Jose Corazon Tala-oc, who rose into the Diocese of Aklan in July 2011.

Abellana has been a missionary for almost 35 years already.
