Measles outbreaks in 5 Metro Manila cities

Sundays health news and update had it that the Department of Health (DOH) declared measles outbreak in at least five Metro Manila cities.

The number of patients succumbed to the infection of the said viral disease has been on the rise, according to the national health department.

Just on Saturday, parents rushed their measles-infected babies to the nearby hospitals for immediate medical care.

There have been 744 cases of measles infection, as far as NCR hospital records are concerned.

The following cities / areas were declared with measles outbreak:

Caloocan
- Dagat-dagatan
- Bagong Barrio

Las Piñas
- Talon Singko
- Talon Dos

Manila
- Quiapo
- Port Area
- Sta. Mesa
- Binondo
- Sta. Cruz

Muntinlupa
- Alabang

Parañaque

Measles is an infection that is highly contagious. It can escalate quickly as it may infect the adults as well.

One of the adverse effects of measles to an infected person is difficulty of breathing.
