5.2 magnitude earthquake hits Italy

Southern Italy was shaken by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake on Sunday afternoon, causing residents to flee to the streets. Early reports say, no injuries so far.
The U.S. Geological Survey measured the earthquake with 5.2 magnitude, while the Italian scientists had it at 4.9. It was felt in the densely populated cities such as Naples, Avellino and Caserta.

The quake's epicenter was 6.2 miles deep, on the border between the Campania and Molise regions.

In the year 1980, the same set of areas in Italy were hit by an earthquake, where more than 3,000 people died.
