New MRT Scheme: Crowd control of 500 passengers at a time

A new MRT scheme, implementing a crowd control of 500 passengers per batch has been implemented by the MRT just recently. This earned negative reactions from the public, where some of them aired their reactions on social media.
MRT general manager Al Vitangcol III told radio that the new scheme, controlling the crowd by batch is intended to allow a more balanced distribution of riders on the elevated railway.

According to Vitangcol, southbound trains could already be full upon reaching at least four stations of the MRT. The influx of passengers needs to be controlled to address congestion and safety.

The passengers concerns centered on travel time, as some them said, their usual trip became 15 minutes longer.

Meanwhile, Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Abaya said, the office is actually on the way to getting more train cars to catch up with the changes brought about by the new MRT scheme.
