DFA raises crisis alert level 3 in Yemen

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) raised the alert level in Yemen to 3 due to the escalating tensions in some areas. Filipinos who wish to return home can avail of the repatriation offered by the Philippine government.

With alert level 3 in Yemen, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) imposes a total deployment measure.

As of the latest news, out of the 40 Filipinos working for the Yemeni Defense Ministry Hospital, seven (7) were already killed. Twenty nine (29) plus two (2) wounded are now in heavily guarded complex in Sana'a.
Secretary Del Rosario also sent Undersecretary Jesus Yabes to Yemen to oversee the repatriation of the remains of the fatalities and the extension of assistance to the survivors. He will join Ambassador Ezzedin Tago and Vice Consul Redentor Genotiva.
Upom Ambassador Tago’s representation, the hospital’s General Director assured the Filipino workers that they will be given two months’ worth of extra benefits
