Bob Arum says pacquiao's tax paperworks will be available soon

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is now under a frozen asset sanction from the Philippine's tax bureau due to an alleged non payment of taxes for his US bouts in 2008 and 2009.
There has been an allegation that Pacquiao did not pay his 2.2 billion pesos ($50.2 million) due taxes.

In support of Pacquiao's plight, Top Rank agency assured that for every fight that the champ made in the US, it made certain that proper payments are made to the US government.

If Manny Pacquiao paid his taxes in the US, then he shall not be obliged by the Philippine government to pay double taxes. This ruling has been confirmed by the Philippine government side, said Arum on Tuesday.

The payments Top Rank promotion sent to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) were via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Although Manny already provided a documentation to show his payments to the US tax authority, the Philippine government asks him to show certified paperwork for the transaction.

To which, Bob Arum said, it will be available very soon.

After a victorious bout against Brandon Rios, Manny Pacquiao rushed home to fulfill his pledge to help the victims of super typhoon Yolanda. However, with his bank accounts frozen, he cannot be able to do so.

Pacquiao called on to the Philippine government to give him a chance, to help and not be very hasty on implementing sanctions on him. Pacquiao said:

I am not a criminal or a thief. I am not hiding anything

I have already paid my taxes in America. Had I not paid the correct taxes, they (US authorities) would have come after me, and I would not have been able to travel there.

Quite disappointing case indeed - Manny Pacquiao had his assets / properties frozen almost instantly.

While government officials involved in multi-billion money scams and laundering cannot be treated as such.
