GSIS grants special loans for members in typhoon affected areas in Visayas

Members of Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in Eastern Visayas can now avail of the special emergency loans that have just been approved, said GSIS VP for communications Marge Jurillo on Thursday.
This newly granted loan package is special in a sense that, it is doubled, compared to the original emergency loan. Normally, an emergency loan gives you P20,000 but this one allows you to avail of up to P40,000.

Members not in Visayas already or maybe evacuated to somewhere else due to the recent typhoon, can still avail of the said loan.

Another good thing is, in anticipation that things such as documents etc. might have been ravaged by the super typhoon Yolanda, GSIS won't be asking for IDs and related papers but instead, look up into its database for counter checks.

Once the emergency loan is approved, the amount will be released with five days.

A special moratorium is also implemented in this special loan for the typhoon victims - they are given a 6-months moratorium, which means, their payment will start in May 2014.
