Google acquires Nest for $3.2 Billion in Cash

NEST, the successful home hardware tech company has just been acquired by the web giant Google for $3.2 billion cash.


According to NEST's founder Tony Fadell, the maker of "internet-connected thermostats and fire detectors" will become more meaningful with the great support from Google.

Nest will be even better placed to build simple, thoughtful devices that make life easier at home, and that have a positive impact on the world.

Among the speculations are, Google will be surely utilizing NEST in refining its online ads and other web services. It could take the cue to pop up the ads when the Google system learns you are at home or probably at home.

Google buying NEST is but another move to establish a stronger grip on the hardware side of things.

This is Google taking big steps for its hardware ambitions.
