Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Hits Snag is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

One of the few remaining Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates has hit a snag and will be delayed beyond its expected release date. The delay is just the latest snag to hit Samsung’s Android 4.3 roll out which also includes the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 updates.

In October, Samsung started rolling out the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. Since then, a majority of carriers around the world have rolled out their respective Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates, delivering Galaxy Gear support, Samsung KNOX and more to owners of the company’s current flagship.

There are, however, still some carriers that have yet to roll out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to their users. As we have pointed out, we haven’t been able to track down very many. One carrier that we have managed to find is Australian carrier Optus, a carrier that still hasn’t completed its Android 4.3 roll out, several months later.

Earlier this month, the carrier promised an Android 4.3 update to Samsung Galaxy S4 4G Plus users in the near future. It said that testing was done and that it would roll out within the next few weeks. Not so fast.

Today, the carrier issued an update to Galaxy S4 4G Plus users saying that the company encountered a snag with the update and that a “critical issue” has forced the carrier to delay the update beyond the month of January. In fact, it appears that this bug is so critical, that the update’s release is now set for late February or early March, no release date given.

The delay likely will make the Optus Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update one of the last updates to land for the Galaxy S4, if not the last. It’s also indicative of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out as a whole.

The Galaxy Note 3 design could feature thinner bezels like the Galaxy S4 to stay with a similar size.

Samsung’s Android 4.3 roll out has been marred by issues. First, it was major problems that struck the UK Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 roll out. Then, the company was forced to delay the Galaxy S4 updates for the AT&T and U.S. Cellular models. We’ve also heard complaints from a ton of Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 owners in the United States running Android 4.3, the software apparently riddled with issues.

Further, the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 updates still haven’t arrived for a few major carriers. Updates are still missing in Australia and in France on French carrier SFR.

That hasn’t stopped Samsung from rolling out its latest Android update, Android 4.4 KitKat, which landed for the Galaxy Note 3 earlier this month. It’s also expected to drop in for the Galaxy S4 in the near future with the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 following close behind.
