Seeger died due natural causes. His songwriting prowess extends to include the folk classics "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!".

Seeger was also known for his being an environmentalist and a follower of liberal politics. His singing career went shattered when he got involved in a political controversy; He was imprisoned for not admitting his time in the Communist Party.

He was barred from TV networks for 17 years.

Upon his return to television in 1967, Seeger launched his anti-war song 'Waist Deep in the Big Muddy'. It was censored but eventually, it helped solidify public views against war.
