NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio criticized for eating pizza with a fork #forkgate

Apparently, someone snapped a photo of NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio eating his pizza with a fork. He was spotted at the Goodfellas Pizza on Staten Island.


Complex.com called the mayor's act as "his first mistake as mayor of NYC."

When asked why he used fork on his pizza, Mayor Bill de Blasio had this to say:

In my ancestral homeland, it’s more typical to eat with a fork and knife

De Blasio kind of referred to his Italian roots.

Since the photo of NYC Mayor spread online, it even earned its own hashtag: #forkgate - which, in turn created further media buzz and produced humorous headlines from media outlets. Here are some of them:
