Nearly a month after the European Moto G started receiving the latest and greatest Android 4.4.2 KitKat software update, today we can officially confirm the Verizon handset is getting the same chocolate treat.
When Motorola announced the extremely budget friendly $179 smartphone it came with a promise of timely updates, especially one from Jelly Bean to the new Android 4.4 KitKat. Today reports from various sources, as well as Twitter, have confirmed the Verizon GSM version is finally getting the latest 4.4.2 KitKat update.
This is great news for Verizon Moto G owners, especially considering the device has only been on the market for barely over a month. Which means Verizon and Motorola have delivered the latest software rather fast for the impressive $99 handset.
At the same time, many Moto X owners stateside are still patiently awaiting the same software on their own respective devices, one which many expected to receive the latest software ahead of the Moto G. Motorola recently launched Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Moto X in Canada, and it’s in the final testing phases with T-Mobile, but there’s still no details for the Verizon model.

As usual, users will want to head to settings > about phone and tap check for updates to get the latest and greatest software from Google, Motorola and Verizon Wireless.
