Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors continue to swirl for prospective buyers in the United States and today, new Galaxy S5 details point to the features that could emerge on the T-Mobile variant of the next Galaxy S smartphone.
While Samsung continues to remain silent about the Galaxy S5 rumors, it’s clear that the company has something big up its sleeve for February 24th. The company scheduled an Unpacked 5 Episode 1 event for that day and reports suggest that it will be the Galaxy S5 that makes its debut alongside a brand new Samsung Galaxy Gear 2.
Galaxy S5 rumors continue to trickle out as they attempt to reveal the flagship smartphone ahead of launch. And while most Galaxy S5 rumors have been on a broad scale, we’ve started to see rumors get extremely specific in the United States as carriers make their preparations for launch.
Yesterday, it was the alleged Sprint Galaxy S5 that showed itself inside of a User Agent Profile on Sprint’s website. The UA Prof is for a device with the model number SM-G900P, a model number that is heavily rumored to be the Sprint Galaxy S5 variant. The SM-G900 model number in general is believed to be for the Galaxy S5. Today, it’s alleged AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy S5 variants that have made an appearance.
A User Agent Profile string for a SM-G900T, a model number that is expected to be attached to the T-Mobile Galaxy S5, has been discovered by SamMobile lurking on Samsung’s website.
The User Agent Profile here is not as extensive as the Sprint leak but it does suggest that the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 could be sporting a display that is rocking full HD 1080p resolution rather than QHD resolution. QHD has been rumored for the Galaxy S5 though the Sprint User Agent Profile showed 1080p resolution and recent alleged Galaxy S5 benchmarks have shown other potential models with 1080p on board as well.
A recent report from The New York Times suggests that Samsung will not be putting a QHD display on any Galaxy S5 model, something that goes against what rumors have been saying for months.
While nothing is confirmed, these User Agent Profiles do suggest that QHD could be skipping the Galaxy S5 variants in the United States. There are, of course, rumors that suggest that there will be two Galaxy S5 models, one premium and one budget, so these could simply just represent one Galaxy S5 model that these carriers intend to launch.
Nothing is certain at this point as Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors have, for the most part, failed to firm up. The device’s design remains a complete mystery, even after a supposed 3D model leak earlier this week. Conflicting reports suggest that the device will come with a bezel-free display and on-screen buttons in place of physical buttons.
Sprint’s UA Prof suggested that the device will retain a 13MP camera instead of a 16MP camera as numerous rumors have suggested. The Galaxy S5 processor debate remains open with rumors suggesting a number of different chips including the Snapdragon 805 and the Snapdragon 800. And leaks have pointed to either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date also remains a mystery though rumors do point to an arrival in April after a launch in late February. Samsung typically releases its flagship smartphones around a month after the announcement which makes a late March or April release likely in the United States and elsewhere
