BlackBerry sues Typo Products LLC over iPhone keyboard

Meanwhile in Toronto, BlackBerry Ltd said it sued a company co-founded by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest over a physical keyboard that can be attached to some iPhone 5 models.
The Typo Products LLC's product sells for $99, an angled miniature keys, like that being used in BlackBerry phones.

While the suit is on the way, both Typo Products LLC and Ryan Seacrest cannot be reached for comments.

BlackBerry is sort of flattered by the infringement but it said, it will not tolerate the act without proper compensation. Said Steve Zipperstein, BlackBerry's chief legal officer:

We are flattered by the desire to graft our keyboard onto other smartphones, but we will not tolerate such activity without fair compensation for using our intellectual property and our technological innovations

Blackberry has been losing billions in many of its recently released devices but nevertheless, it is able to establish loyal pool of customers who still prefer to use the traditional keyboard system.

Blackberry's rights related complaint has been filed in the United States District Court for the northern district of California.
