Weather: America will be like the North Pole

Residents from Chicago to New York engaged into snow digging on Friday as the Blizzard of 2014 moves out to the sea. As a consequence, more than 100 million Americans will be affected by the snowstorm.
On Friday, public schools in New York will be closed. Perhaps, this is one primary and welcoming test for the newly elected mayor of NYC, Bill de Blasio.

Also, the same day sent about 1,500 flights cancelled, as per information released by  FlightAware's live tracker. At this moment in time, travelling from New York City to Boston is shut down, on all modes of transportation.

The national weather service has the advisory below:

FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS...MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. DO NOT TRAVEL. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...HAVE A WINTER SURVIVAL KIT WITH YOU. IF YOU GET STRANDED...STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE.

Snow racks up high, in fact today news has the following snow thickness in the East Coast areas:

23.5" in Topsfield, MA

10.1" in Clifton Heights, PA

10" in Lakewood, NJ

9.4" in Wilmington, DE

9.3" in Brooklyn, NY

9" in West Swanzey, NH

8" in Woonsocket, RI

6.8" in Staffordville, CT

6.3" in Kingsville, MD

2.5" in Washington, DC

Moreover, given those thick snows around, the next wave will be packet of chilling winds.

In the next five days, two successive bursts of cold air will be around, where temperatures are expected to hit -15ºF, sweeping the Midwest, the Chicago area, the Ohio Valley, and parts of interior New England.
