City of Toronto storm update: Ice storm 2013

Take note of these Toronto storm update, as the city continues to battle the impacts of the ice storm. Some workers slated to work today were urged to deliver whatever they can.
Toronto storm update
Toronto emergency services including fire, medical services and police are facing increased call volumes. The city residents are reminded to call 911 for emergency needs, while for regular matters, 416-808-2222 are the numbers to dial.

Toronto's TTC made it possible for the city's streetcar to return back on operation on all routes.

Toronto Hydro reports that about 225,000 consumers are without power. It is hoped that by Wednesday, everything will be back to normal.

Transportation Services Division - about 100 traffic signals are not working, while the following roads are closed to traffic:

  1. Old Kingston Road from Military Trail to Manse Road
  2. Military Trail from Old Kingston Road to Bobmar Road
  3. St. Andrews Road from Meldazy Drive to Suraty Avenue
  4. Colonel Danforth Trail - Bonacres Avenue to dead end
  5. Highview Avenue at Lillington Avenue
  6. Pinegrove Road at South Edgely Avenue.
