Minecraft PS3 version for release this week

Playstation blog announced the Minecraft is coming to PS3 this week. A news that will excite the Minecraft heavy players out there.
The Minecraft Playstation edition will be live in North America on Tuesday, Dec. 17, then in Europe on the following day, Wednesday.

Owen of Mojang said:

Minecraft: PS3 Edition comes with everything present in other console versions. They're pretty much identical to play, and will be developed in tandem from now on.

It is also hinted that after the launch of the game, Downloadable skins and texture packs will be available online soon.
Minecraft is a game where you build fortresses or camps using blocks of many variations to protect yourself from nocturnal monsters. The latter part of it will come like a series of adventures already. There are lots of adventures that you can try in Minecraft, and for sure, things will be a lot different when the game goes to PS3.

Some of the questions asked pertaining to the upcoming release of Minecraft Playstation 3 edition:

Does Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition feature everything from the other versions of Minecraft? Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition comes with everything present in other console versions. They’re pretty-much identical to play, and will be developed in tandem from now on. 

Will Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition feature DLC texture packs and skins? Downloadable skins and texture packs will be available from PlayStation Store soon after release. 

Will there be Sony-specific content? Sony-specific skins and texture packs would be cool! Fingers crossed, eh? 

Will Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition feature Remote Play/compatibility with the Vita/PS4 editions? We don’t know yet, sorry. We’ll let you know as soon as we do.
