'Dating Daan' Evangelist Eliseo Soriano fined over libel against Iglesia ni Cristo

INC or Iglesia ni Cristo has just won a libel case against 'Dating Daan' evangelist Eliseo Soriano for the 'malicious and libelous' remarks he spoke on national some 10 years ago.
Judge Eleuterio Bathan of the Regional Trial Court Branch 92 released a 19-page decision stating:

There is no question that the broadcasts were made public and imputed to Iglesia Ni Cristo defects or circumstances tending to cause it dishonor, discredit and contempt

Soriano’s remarks… are libelous per se, uncalled for and misleading information to the public. Taken as a whole, the broadcasts suggest Iglesia Ni Cristo is a killer, swindler, a spy, and a terrorist and a thief which is contrary to the doctrines and teachings of every religious sect

Soriano (Ely Soriano) has been fined P100k and since he was absent during the promulgation of the court's decision, he missed a chance to file an appeal.
