230 houses hit by fire in Butuan city

Hundreds of houses in Butuan city, around 230 according to news sources were hit by fire on Friday. The fire swept areas covering two barangays - Barangay Port Poyohon and Barangay Obrero.
Initial local police reports say, the fire started in Barangay Port Poyohon, Purok 4 in particular. It took down the houses to ground ashes in less than two (2) hours.

While Barangay Port Poyohon sustained around 200 houses burned, Barangay Obrero got 30 houses razed.

As of the latest, the total estimate of damages and casualties are not yet determined.

The incident was attended by fire fighters from five towns outside Butuan city. Volunteer fire fighters also responded to the scene.
