Katy Perry appointed as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Singer Katy Perry is the newest Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF. Her first trip bearing the role is - to the Indian Ocean island nation of Madagascar.
Perry related, her global role changed her life.

It really kind of reprioritized my thinking, and my whole approach on life, and how to find my own joy and my own happiness that isn’t being from material possessions and social status.

And at some point, her noble role in UNICEF inspired her to write the song "Unconditionally".

Her being the ambassadress brought her to the realization that:

..the world has so many different things to offer and cultures

Ms. Perry added:

You know I was going through a transition in my life where I felt like I had been suppressed and emotionally toyed with — and like I went there, and I was like, I have nothing to compare my situation to ..It made me feel very grateful, but also very aware.
