World's Ugliest Dog Elwood died at 8

'Elwood' was at the age of 8 when he breathe his last, while in the arms of his owner Karen Quigley, 52, a veterinarian in Sewell, New Jersey.
Elwood is a Chihuahua and Chinese Crested mix, who wear a very unusual appearance - dark and almost over-all hairless with a crown of white hair on his forehead, plus a protruding long tongue. This earned him the title "World's Ugliest Dog" in 2007.

Quigley adopted Elwood when he was 9 months old.

Quigley related that Elwood had:

a magical power to make people smile and laugh ..He was the most beautiful dog I've ever seen ...He taught children it's OK to be different.

Elwood is believed to have died of cancer.
