Gift certificates should not expire, DOJ says

Gift certificates should not expire as they are equivalent to real money, the department of justice says.

The department issued a warning to the establishments giving away certificates to refrain from putting expiration dates.
It can be recalled that in 2010, the Philippine's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) declared an Administrative order related to the above-mentioned reminder.

According to consumers act, violators shall face a P10,000 penalty or 1 year imprisonment.
